William "Bill" Mazur
Chairman
Bill Mazur is a 25-year law enforcement veteran who retired in 2017 as Deputy Chief of Police. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Stockton University and a Master’s Degree in Police Graduate Studies from Seton Hall University. A graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session #256), Bill has remained deeply involved in advancing officer wellness and leadership development. He served as a Master Instructor with the FBI National Academy Associates, contributing to their Comprehensive Officer Resiliency Training Program, and currently acts as a Liaison for the New Jersey State Resilience Program for Law Enforcement. In 2017, Bill co-founded a nationally recognized first responder outreach team, dedicating nearly a decade to connecting first responders with vetted, culturally competent behavioral health resources. His ongoing commitment to public safety and wellness also led to the creation of the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Foundation, established in partnership with Sheriff Eric Scheffler. Bill served as Chairman throughout Sheriff Scheffler’s two terms, and when the Foundation evolved into a broader community outreach organization, Bill continued to lead in his volunteer role as Chairman of what is now known as The Hope Exists Foundation. For more than 33 years, Bill has dedicated his career and volunteer service to strengthening communities through both public safety and mental health advocacy. In 2025, he expanded this mission by co-founding Sentinel Resilience Solutions, where he serves as Chief Resiliency Officer. Through this new venture, Bill is developing a gold-standard treatment protocol blueprint designed to enhance both the quality of care and access to effective, clinically appropriate support for first responders and their families
